The parish of St Mary’s is served from the historic church of St Mary's in Brewood, next to the Shropshire Union Canal. It looks after the area of rural Staffordshire between Wolverhampton and Stafford, including the villages of Brewood, Penkridge, Wheaton Aston, Bishops Wood and Coven and their surrounding areas. The parish is part of the Catholic Archdiocese of Birmingham.
The church was designed in the English Gothic style by Augustus Welby Pugin, widely regarded as the most influential architects and designers of the early Victorian era. The church first opened its doors to the catholic community in 1844.
Today, the parish continues to be a place of welcome and prayer for its parishioners and visitors alike. Please feel free to contact us by phone, letter or email and, even more importantly, it would be great to see you in person.
